GTA 6 weapon customization is visible on the guns but not yet in a menu: Rockstar's footage shows red-dot sights, suppressors, a 40-round count on the HUD, gold and painted finishes and engraved edition pistols, and no gunsmith screen. Nobody outside Rockstar has seen an attachment shop or a price. The game is out on November 19, 2026, and that is the first day any of this can be tested.
Key facts
- No gunsmith screen, attachment list or attachment price has been shown for GTA 6.
- Rockstar's Extended Look shows a red-dot sight (9:11), suppressed long guns (13:59) and a 40-round count on a rifle's HUD (14:12).
- A gold compact rifle with a dollar-sign grip appears in the Extended Look at 3:49.
- The Vintage Vice City pre-order pack puts a tropical palm-leaf pattern on most guns, in Rockstar's own words.
- The Ultimate Edition engraves Jason's Girardi ES9, Lucia's Klose K17 and a his-and-hers pair of Morgan revolvers.
Video source
The list of customized guns and attachments to look for comes from Hazard's September 17, 2026 video; every shot he points to was checked on Rockstar's own upload or artwork.
The guns worth looking at come from Hazard's September 17 video, embedded above. We took every shot he points to back to its source: An Extended Look, Trailer 2, and the official edition artwork. We checked the frames on October 26, 2026. What Hazard reads into a shot is marked as his. Where his footage could not be matched to Rockstar, it is left out.
Can you customize weapons in GTA 6?
Almost certainly, but Rockstar has not said how. There is no customization menu, upgrade screen or attachment list in any official video. TGG, who saw the game at Rockstar North's August preview, says he never saw one either. Our combat guide has his account.
What exists is evidence on the guns themselves. AR-style rifles turn up with different sights, stocks and muzzles. An SMG and a pistol carry a pattern Rockstar sells as a pre-order bonus. And the Ultimate Edition adds what Rockstar itself calls "personalized variants" of two pistols and a pair of revolvers. Rockstar has to apply those finishes to guns somehow. Whether attachments work the same way, or are fixed to the gun you pick up, is the open question this page tracks.
Sights, scopes and lights: what Rockstar has shown
The clearest attachment shot is the trunk scene above. Jason pulls an AR-style rifle out of a car with a compact red-dot sight on the top rail and an adjustable stock. Hazard calls it "a small scope"; at full resolution it is a short reflex-type optic, not a magnified scope. Lucia's rifle next to him has no optic we can read at that distance. Our weapon wheel guide uses the shot one second earlier to show how cars carry your loadout.
Scopes proper appear elsewhere. Rockstar's Ultimate Edition text promises a "high-performance scope" on the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolver, and the artwork shows it mounted on one of the pair. An official screenshot published by Game Informer shows a rider on an ATV with a large scope on a rifle slung across his back.
The SMG above stacks three changes at once. GTABase files it as the SPP / MP9. It has a lime green and pink finish, an open reflex sight on top, and a magazine that reaches well below the grip. Hazard reads it as a red-dot sight and an extended magazine, and it is the best single image of a fully dressed gun so far.
Lights are less clear. Hazard points to a police pistol with a flashlight and a sight on another officer's gun, but we could not find that scene in the Extended Look or Trailer 2. In the Extended Look drug lab raid at 4:06, an officer aims a pump shotgun with a light near the muzzle. That is as far as the official footage goes.
Suppressors and the 40-round magazine
Suppressors are confirmed on screen. In the Extended Look at 13:59, a masked Jason sits in a car with an AR-style rifle that has a suppressor on the muzzle and a long magazine, and no stock in view. Our weapon wheel guide shows the same gun in the back seat a second later.
Other official material agrees. The Launch Trailer shows a man wading through mangrove water with a suppressed rifle, and the Game Informer screenshots show a rifle with a suppressor, a reflex sight and a foregrip.
Magazines are where Hazard makes his most specific claim.
It didn't have a stock, but it carried an extended magazine, which is also confirmed by the numbers in the HUD seconds later as we can see that the magazine carries 40 rounds.
Hazard · 5:02
The number is real. At 14:12 the HUD shows 40 and 250 beside an assault rifle icon, and the first number drops to 27 and then 22 as Jason fires. It also read 40 at 14:01, when he first leaned out to fire, with 300 as the second number. What it proves is less certain. The HUD never says which number is the magazine, and Rockstar has published no magazine sizes, so "extended magazine" is Hazard's reading of a large count. It is a reasonable one. It is not a confirmed attachment.
Guns with names on screen
The Extended Look also puts a gun's in-game name on screen. Late in the office tower fight, Jason passes a body and the game offers him the dead man's gun.
The prompt reads L1 DUKE 556 ASSAULT RIFLE. That is Rockstar's own name for the gun, shown in gameplay, and it matches GTABase's Duke Arms 556 Assault Rifle. Two seconds later the pistol icon is gone.
Hazard says the dropped rifle had an iron sight and a suppressor. Neither can be read in these frames; the gun is in shadow and the HUD icon is too small. He also says the men who storm the tower carry AK-style rifles with different attachments from one another. That would mean enemies in one mission are not kitted alike. The scene is lit blue and dark, and we could not confirm it. Duke Arms makes more than one rifle in GTABase's list: the Duke Arms AR-15 Carbine sits beside the 556 in the assault rifles aisle.
Gold, flags and palm leaves: finishes and patterns
Finishes are the best-documented kind of customization in GTA 6. Three appear in Rockstar's own material.
Gold. In the drug lab at 3:49, a tattooed man handles a compact AK-pattern rifle plated in gold, with pearl-white furniture, a dollar sign on the grip and a scroll on the handguard. GTABase lists it as the Micro Draco Compact Rifle. Hazard says it has an extended magazine; the magazine in the frame is an ordinary curved one, so we do not repeat that.
Paint. Lucia's rifle in the trunk scene is finished in red, white and blue stars and stripes. Hazard calls it a US flag paint job.
Patterns. The pre-order bonus is the one finish Rockstar describes in words: the Vintage Vice City Pack will "adorn most guns with a tropical pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti's iconic palm tree button-up." "Most guns" is the important phrase. It implies a finish applied across a list of weapons rather than one special gun. Its artwork shows the pattern on an SMG and a pistol, and on a compact SMG in a second image that GTABase files under the MAC-11. Hazard says Jason gets that MAC-11; the man in the artwork is not shown to be Jason. The full pack text is on our edition weapons page.
Engraved edition guns: names and serial numbers
The Ultimate Edition adds three personalized guns. Rockstar's text says little: "personalized sidearms with detailed engravings" for Jason's Girardi ES9 and Lucia's Klose K17, and his and hers Morgan revolvers with "palm-tree-etched grips, engraved detailing, and high-performance scope". The artwork says more, and Hazard reads it closely.
Jason's ES9 has J. DUVAL on the slide, SUA SPONTE engraved on an ornate light grip panel, and JD on the base of the magazine. Lucia's K17 has a dark red frame, a silver slide, her name in script and a pink and white rose on the grip. Hazard calls the red a tint. Whether it is a tint you choose or simply part of this edition item, Rockstar does not say.
The revolvers carry their owners' names too: J.DUVAL on the scoped chrome one, L.CAMINOS on the dark one with a gold trigger and gold palm trees on the grip. Their serial numbers are 311006 and 291002. Hazard has a reading for both.
Lucia's revolver has the serial number 291002, which translates to October 29th, 2002. This is the release date of GTA Vice City.
Hazard · 9:12
Jason's 311006 he reads as October 31, 2006, the release of GTA Vice City Stories. GTA MANIA makes the same reading in its own video. Rockstar has not commented, so treat it as a fan reading that happens to fit both numbers. Hazard also wonders whether "sourced from the Vercetti Estate" means the estate is a place in GTA 6. That is speculation; the only source is Rockstar's one line of edition copy.
Is there an Ammu-Nation gunsmith in GTA 6?
Ammu-Nation exists. Trailer 2 runs a TV advert for Phil's Ammu-Nation, covered in our weapon wheel guide. What it sells is unknown: no menu, no prices, no attachment list. Nothing official says you can modify a gun there, or anywhere else.
GTABase expects guns to take attachments. It marks 29 of the 51 weapon entries in our weapons database as customizable "with various attachments and tints". GTABase gives no source for that flag. We show it as GTABase's expectation and nothing more. The real-life guns page matches each weapon to its firearm, which is the closest thing to knowing what rails and mounts a gun has.
