GTA 6 Launch Trailer weapons: every gun, shot by shot

Every sighting below was checked on Rockstar's own upload of the trailer, frame by frame at 1080p, on October 26, 2026. Timestamps are those of that upload, which opens with a two-second PlayStation card. The names, makers and real guns are GTABase's or EenGamer's identifications (GTABase's weapons list), and each one says whose it is. No stats, prices or unlock methods exist for any of these weapons yet.

0:18 The lowrider: a compact SMG and a revolver

The first gun comes right after the title card. A tattooed man in a cap and sunglasses rides in a green lowrider painted with spider webs and lets a compact, boxy submachine gun hang out of the window, pointed at the road. Two more men sit behind him; the one in the back wears a bandana over his face.

EenGamer reads it as a MAC-10, "a weapon also featured in GTA Vice City". The MAC-10 is his identification and is not in our database under that name. The closest entry is the MAC-11, which GTABase files under the real gun's name because the in-game name is unknown, and which it found in Rockstar's official screenshots, not in this trailer.

EenGamer also sees a revolver in the same shot, "specifically the Hawk & Little Morgan Revolver". The frame does show something: for a fraction of a second at 0:18, a long chrome barrel with a ribbed top rests on the front door at the driver's side. It is motion-blurred and half hidden by the door pillar, so the model cannot be read. If EenGamer is right, it is the Morgan Revolver Rockstar names in the Ultimate Edition, which GTABase matches to a Smith & Wesson Model 629 Classic.

Three men wade through mangrove water at sunset, a boat behind them. The one in front has night-vision goggles raised on his head and carries a rifle with a long suppressor; the two behind him hold rifles low.

EenGamer calls it "a mix between a Heavy Rifle and a Carbine Rifle, if we go from GTA 5 guns", and says the same gun appears twice more in the frame. That is a description, not a name. The light is behind the men and the rifles are silhouettes, so no database entry can be matched to this shot. In GTA Online the Heavy Rifle is the weapon GTABase links to the Scar Assault Rifle, which leads to the next rifle.

0:29 Knuckle dusters under the EXIT sign

The clearest weapon in the trailer is also the smallest. A long-haired man raises a clenched fist wearing gold knuckle dusters, a red EXIT sign glowing behind him. The trailer does not say who he is.

EenGamer calls them brass knuckles. GTABase added them as the Knuckle Dusters, citing this trailer, and matches the design to plain brass knuckles. The name carries over from Grand Theft Auto V; San Andreas and Vice City called them Brass Knuckles. They join the melee weapons Rockstar has shown, next to the baseball bat and the hammer.

0:34 The Scar Assault Rifle

Five seconds later a man in tactical gear moves crouched across a wet metal deck, under a huge structure lit orange and blue through smoke. He holds a black rifle pointed down.

EenGamer only says it looks like the swamp rifle. GTABase goes further: this is the frame behind its Scar Assault Rifle, one of four weapons it added after the trailer. It reads the design as an FN SCAR-H or SCAR-L and links it to GTA Online's Heavy Rifle. It lists no manufacturer. In our assault rifles aisle it is the only rifle whose first sighting is the Launch Trailer.

Is there a knife in the Launch Trailer?

There is a blade, but nobody holds it. At 0:42 a man reaches across a bar counter toward a round tray, and on the tray lie a small blade and a red lighter. A paper cocktail umbrella sits on the counter.

EenGamer calls it a small knife that "probably will only be used once during this specific cutscene". That is his guess; the shot gives no hint of use. Our database lists knives only from leaks: the Hawk & Little Knife from the 2022 leak and a switchblade and a hunting knife from the August 2026 leak. This one is not matched to any of them.

0:53 Jason's rifle on the helipad

On a helipad at night, a short-haired man in a dark jacket holds a rifle against his chest while an explosion throws sparks behind him. EenGamer says it is Jason. The trailer does not caption him.

EenGamer reads the rifle as "essentially a modern version of the Service Carbine". Our closest entry is the Duke Arms 556 Assault Rifle, which GTABase matches to a Colt M4A1 and links to GTA Online's Service Carbine. GTABase found it in official screenshots and has not tied it to this shot, and most of the rifle is hidden behind the man's arm.

0:59 How many gold AKs are there?

Two women in pink balaclavas stand back to back in front of a red curtain and a banner. Each holds a gold-finished AK-pattern rifle with a curved magazine. A camera viewfinder is laid over the picture, so this is a photo shoot inside the game.

EenGamer counts six golden AKs. Two are held. At least three more lean or lie behind the women, out of focus, so six is possible but we cannot count them all on the frames. He also sees a revolver "right here", probably the same Hawk & Little; there is a chrome object on a table at the right, too blurred to call a gun.

GTABase's AK entry, the Shrewsbury AKM Assault Rifle, comes from the September 2022 leak, and GTABase has not moved it to official after this trailer. So the gold rifles here match no confirmed weapon yet. Shorter AK-type guns do have an entry: the Micro Draco Compact Rifle, seen in official screenshots.

Does the Launch Trailer show a grenade launcher?

Yes, for about a second at 1:00. Seen from behind, a person with long braids and a black tactical vest fires down from a raised structure, and explosions hit police cars on the road below. The weapon has a large revolving drum.

EenGamer says this is Lucia "absolutely blowing up some police with a grenade launcher". The frame does not show the face. The drum matches the Shrewsbury Grenade Launcher in our database, which GTABase first spotted in Trailer 2 and reads as a Milkor MGL. The Launch Trailer adds a second official sighting, this time being fired. Launchers like this sit in the heavy weapons aisle.

1:01 and 1:05 Two pistols EenGamer reads as the Klose K17

Right after the launcher, on a construction rooftop at night, a man eats from a bucket with his foot on someone lying on the ground. To the right, a woman in a silver corset holds a pistol at her side. Its finish is light and patterned, but it is small in frame and soft.

EenGamer says the woman is Lucia holding "what appears to be the Klose K17", and that a police officer holds the same gun later. That is the second pistol, at 1:05: a heavy-set man in glasses, a uniform shirt with a shoulder patch and a vest raises a black pistol with a red-dot sight on the slide, in green fog. At 1:05 a spent casing is in the air, so he is firing.

The Klose K17 is a real entry: Rockstar names Lucia's engraved K17 in the Ultimate Edition, and GTABase matches it to a Glock 17 or a SIG Sauer P320. Neither frame shows a maker's mark. So both pistols are K17s by EenGamer's reading only. Every other handgun is in the handguns aisle.

1:11 The sniper rifle with a helicopter in the scope

A short-haired man aims a rifle against a night skyline. It has a large scope and a box magazine, and the scope lens reflects a helicopter at sunset. EenGamer says the man is Jason.

EenGamer calls it a sniper rifle, "probably one with a .300 or .308 round". The caliber is his guess, and he gives no model. GTABase has not tied a sniper to this shot. Our sniper rifles aisle has three confirmed rifles from official screenshots, including the Bolt Action Sniper that GTABase reads as a Remington 700 BDL. Matching this one to any of them would be a guess we are not making.

1:12 The last gun: an AR-style carbine

The final weapon shot is the busiest. A woman in a cap, clear safety glasses and a black plate carrier fires an AR-style carbine in a street, with orange traffic barrels, men in hi-vis vests and a burning police car behind her. The carbine has a front sight post and a flip-up rear sight.

EenGamer calls her Lucia and the gun "a modern version of the Service Carbine" again, the same reading as the helipad rifle. Here the whole carbine is visible, which makes it the best candidate in the trailer for the Duke Arms 556. That match is still EenGamer's, not GTABase's.

How many guns are in the GTA 6 Launch Trailer?

The Launch Trailer of October 15, 2026 shows weapons in 12 shots, by our frame check on October 26, 2026. Ten of them hold a gun; the other two are the knuckle dusters and a knife on a tray. EenGamer's title says 14: his list counts the knuckle dusters and the knife, and names the revolver, the K17 and the Service Carbine twice.

What new weapons did the Launch Trailer add?

GTABase added two weapons from it: the Knuckle Dusters (0:29) and the Scar Assault Rifle (0:34). Both have their own pages in our database. The other guns look like weapons already known from Trailer 2 or the official screenshots.

Is there a grenade launcher in the GTA 6 Launch Trailer?

Yes. At 1:00 a person in a tactical vest fires a drum-fed launcher at police cars. EenGamer says it is Lucia. The drum matches the Shrewsbury Grenade Launcher that GTABase first saw in Trailer 2.

Does Lucia use a pistol in the Launch Trailer?

A woman in a silver corset holds a pistol at 1:01, and EenGamer says she is Lucia with a Klose K17. The trailer does not caption her, and the pistol is too small in frame to read. Rockstar has confirmed an engraved K17 for Lucia in the Ultimate Edition.

What sniper rifle does Jason use in the Launch Trailer?

Nobody has named it. At 1:11 a man EenGamer calls Jason aims a scoped rifle with a box magazine, a helicopter reflected in the lens. EenGamer guesses a .300 or .308 caliber; GTABase has not identified it as of October 26, 2026.

Are the gold AKs in GTA 6?

Gold-finished AK-pattern rifles are on screen at 0:59, in a photo shoot with two women in pink balaclavas. GTABase still lists its AK, the Shrewsbury AKM Assault Rifle, only from the September 2022 leak, so the gold AKs match no confirmed entry yet.
